Expand your visual check. Look directly on the bedding surrounding the bowl. You see the top layer of bedding, and you notice the broccoli piece no longer remains visibly present. Look beside the bowl. You see the ceramic rim and the flat presentation surface. Look around the bedding immediately surrounding the dish. Look near the hide entrance. You see the dark opening. Look inside shallow tunnels near the presentation area. You see bedding, but notice whether the broccoli piece appears or remains visibly present. Look inside the primary caches. You see piles of bedding. Look closely at the loose bedding. You see broccoli pieces resting beneath loose bedding. You look at the presentation area and the surrounding spaces to see exactly which broccoli pieces no longer remain visibly present and which remain visibly present.

Look closely at the surface of the broccoli pieces sitting in the bowl. When you look at the piece later, you see immediate visual differences. Look at the surface texture of the green florets and check whether localized edge marks cut into the smooth areas of the stalk. Look closely at the outer edges of the broccoli piece. You see perfectly intact, smooth areas with no visible surface marks, no missing chunks, and no small fragments resting nearby. Look at the firm original stalk and the tightly clustered florets.

Place an untouched broccoli piece side-by-side with a broccoli piece displaying visible surface marks. Look at the original visible shape next to the visibly smaller broccoli piece. On the visibly smaller piece, you see rough areas, modified edges, visible tears, and missing chunks in the stalk and florets. Look at the jagged lines of a tear along the stalk. Look at the small green fragments on the ceramic floor. On the untouched piece, you see the exact original visible shape you saw earlier. Comparing the missing chunks and modified edges to the intact smooth areas, you see the pieces displaying visible surface marks.

Look at the untouched broccoli pieces that remain visibly present in the presentation area when you check the bowl again. Check the presentation surface. Look at the original visible shapes and the outer edges. You see the broccoli pieces sitting exactly as they appeared when you saw them earlier. Compare the shapes you see in the bowl. Notice the smooth areas on the stalks and the lack of visible surface marks across the remaining broccoli pieces.

Look beside the bowl. Look closely across the top layer of bedding directly next to the presentation surface. Check the bedding. Look around the bowl. Notice whether the missing broccoli pieces appear there. Compare the remaining broccoli pieces with the missing broccoli pieces. Look at the original visible shape resting on the ceramic surface, and look at the missing chunks resting on the bedding.

Look near the hide entrance. You see the opening of the wooden house or ceramic hide, and check whether missing broccoli pieces appear just inside the entrance. Look inside the shallow tunnels. You see the clear plastic tubes or bedding burrows stretching across the enclosure. Look closely through the clear plastic or loose bedding. Check whether small fragments or modified edges of the broccoli pieces appear on the flat bottom of the shallow tunnels.

Look inside the primary caches. You see piles of bedding. Compare what you see resting in the bowl with what you see resting in the bedding. You are simply looking at the untouched broccoli pieces in the presentation area and checking the surrounding visible surfaces to see where the missing broccoli pieces appear.
